Carhartt WIP Skate Film: Ishin Denshin

Ishin Denshin is Carhartt WIP’s first full-length skate film set in Asia, filmed entirely in Japan. The project follows the brand’s growing skate team in Japan and across Asia, moving through quiet neighborhoods and busy city streets to show everyday skate life in the country.

The 20-minute film looks closely at Japan’s skate scene, where skating in public spaces is often difficult due to strict rules and pressure from authorities. Shot by longtime Carhartt WIP collaborator Romain Batard alongside Geoff Campbell and Kyota Kamei, the film captures how skaters continue to ride despite these challenges.

The title Ishin Denshin means “telepathy,” referring to the shared understanding between skaters worldwide. The film features an international Carhartt WIP team, including debut rider Kyonosuke Yamashita, alongside Yuma Takei and Kelly Ishihara from Japan, and skaters from Europe and the US. The release is supported by a small product drop, a Japan-exclusive hoodie, and a special zine. Ishin Denshin premieres on YouTube on January 30, 2026.
