Edwin Music Channel: Carrier

Born in London, Sam Brewer has spent the last three decades exploring different sounds and creative identities. He first gained attention as part of the drum & bass duo Commix, known for combining deep electronic sounds with jazz influences. Their 2007 album Call to Mind became an important release in the genre and helped establish Brewer as a respected producer.

After leaving drum & bass behind, Brewer created the Shifted project in 2011, focusing on darker and experimental techno through his own Avian label. Over the years, he also developed several other aliases, each exploring different styles of electronic music. His approach has always been about change and experimentation rather than staying with one sound.

In recent years, Brewer introduced Carrier, a new project that blends techno, ambient, dub, noise, and drum & bass. His 2025 album Tender Spirits received strong recognition for its emotional and unique approach. For EDWIN MUSIC CHANNEL, Brewer created a mix exploring modern techno while discussing his creative journey, his move to Antwerp, and how different environments continue to influence his music.
